Some voices make even a familiar story feel new. Would you pick the author, a trained narrator, or someone whose voice you associate with childhood? I would also love an audiobook that leaves a little silence after the final line of a chapter.

This is the sort of shelf that makes choosing one book feel impossible. I would start by reading the spines, pull out something unfamiliar, and probably forget what I came in looking for. Do you browse by author, subject, or whatever catches your eye?
A children's meal comes with a choice: a short illustrated book or a small toy. Which would you have wanted as a child? Would your answer be different if the books formed a series?
